Maddi Time

Our little nephew Jered is quite entertaining.  We love any time that we get to spend with him, and I think he likes us too.  This is how he feels about "Maddi time"

I like to think I have that effect on everyone.

Lakers

For Christmas I got Eric tickets to the Lakers game and we finally got to go this week!  Now, Eric is quite the Lakers fan.

And me?

Well, I've been raised to hate the Lakers. But with marriage, comes change and compromise.  Although I still love my Nuggets,  I can support my husband by supporting the Lakers.

Unless, of course, they play the Nuggets.

The Staples Center and LA Live.

Don't tell my dad I wore that shirt.

I hope they call me on a Mission

Mom and Dad Bell are the among the newest missionaries for the LDS church!! They have been called as missionaries in Quezon City, Phillipines and we are so excited for their new adventure!!

They packed up their bags and headed out of town on Saturday. We took them to the airport to say our goodbyes.  It was definitely bitter sweet and we will miss them here in Cali!

Eric is so proud of his parents and their decision to serve a mission!

Aren't they cute missionaires???
You can follow their adventures here, on their mission blog.

To my Wife

Being an unemployed wife, you can imagine that I have a lot of time on my hands to do really important things (like blog stalking and watching Ellen.) I think this is hilarious. A blog written by a single guy to his future wife.  All of things he will do, and all the things he wont. Some lucky lady out there has written proof of all the things her husband said he would (or wouldn't) do.... before they got married.  Genius.

Not that men change before/after marriage.  uhhhhhh

If Eric would have written something like this (which he assures me he wouldn't have) it may have looked something like this....

Singing.  I wont sing in public. But I will break out in spontaneous singing in which I make up my own lyrics.  You will always laugh.

Timing.   I promise I will always do the dishes if you cook dinner.  But I will do them on my own time.  I don't understand why the dishes must be cleaned immediately after dinner.

ESPN. Is a major part of my life.  Learn to deal with it.

The Best.  You are and always will be my best friend.  That's why I married you.  This being said, I still need my other best friend time.  I encourage you to do the same.

Flicks.  I don't do chick flicks.  I will watch the Bachelor with you though.... you know, so you don't have to watch it alone.

Airports. I will always pick you up at the airport, be patient.....  I'll be there eventually.

Sick. If you get sick I will buy you medicine and rub your back.  Please don't ask me to hold your hair while you throw up.  I am not your mom.

Anyways.... you get the point.  I'm a sucker for that impulsive singing.  Plus he's totally dreamy.  Don't ya think?

The mustache was temporary...  he thought it was sexy.

Christmasings

We had a very wonderful Christmas here in Hermosa Beach spent with the Bells.  I must admit that I was a little... apprehensive, if you will, about my first Christmas away from home.  But, much to my surprise... we had an absolutely splendid time celebrating my favorite time of the year.

First, we decked our halls.  (Well, lets be honest... we don't have a single hall in our apartment.  So, we decked the... walls?)

And made Gingerbread houses.

And we even played in the snow.... yes.  There was SNOW in Hermosa Beach. Fake snow, but hey, a girl can't be too picky.

On Christmas Eve we dressed up like Wisemen.

And read the Polar Express

Christmas Day was full of.... PUZZLES!!!  And we have done nothing but puzzles ever since.

So, as you can see we have been VERY busy Bells.  But not too busy to forget the true meaning of this special time of year.  We are thankful for the birth, life, and Atonement of Jesus Christ and hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas season as well.
