We are alive

Sorry about the lapse in blogging... but we are still here and doing well!  It has definately been a crazy couple of weeks that has included weddings, vacations, and a move! Here is the rundown...

We spent a wonderful week in Saint George.  It is one of our favorite places and we make it down whenever we can.

I got to go home for one of my best friend, Chelsea's graduation.  Chelsea has been like a sister to me throughout the years so I am so glad that I was able to be there to celebrate with her and her family.  I also got to spend some much needed time with my family.  There is nothing like being home... who knows what the future will bring, but if it ever brings us back to Colorado I would be the happiest girl in the world!
Me and Cass showing off our rings to Rod - Chelsea is next!

Chelsea and Jeff - congrats!

My favorite ladies out to breakfast!

While I was enjoying my vacation in Colorado, Eric made the move up to Portland for the summer.  I joined him here on Friday, and it was SO good to see him. I missed him so much while I was gone, and I am loving being back with him.  So far I love it here on Portland! I have never been to such a green place in my entire life.  My mom and I spent a few days seeing the sights of Portland.  It was so fun  to spend the time with her. Thank you for bringing me out here mom!

Mothers

Happy Mother's Day to our wonderful mothers!!

"The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity." - Margaret Nadauld

Thank you for being the perfect examples of love and goodness. We love you!!

Graduation

Well, after 7 years as a Cougar, Eric finally said goodbye to BYU.  He graduated with degrees in Economics, Portuguese, and Business Management (if he can't find a job with at least one of those, we're in trouble!)  I am so proud of him and all of his hard work.  I know it will all pay off.  In the mean time, we are still waiting to hear from a few law schools and make our final decision.

Eric's family came out for the big event and we had a great time with all of them (even if the weather was yucky).  Thanks so much for coming out! We love you guys!

Birthday Boy

Eric turned 26 last week!  To celebrate, we went paintballing.  Yes, even I went - and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was.  We all had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who helped make Eric's day so special.  Happy Birthday babe! I am so grateful for you and everything that you do for me.  You are my best friend and I love you!

The Last One.

I finished it - my last class as a BYU student.  Unfortunately I'm not quite set to graduate, but I am done with classes and what a relief!! One semester of student teaching left and I am home free.  Well, free to the real world of work anyways.  I'll probably wish I was back here someday.  As for now - I can't wait to get out of Provo and I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for us.

In other news.... the Easter Bunny came to visit our house last week.  Take a look at what he left...

My mommy also came to visit.  We had a fabulous time shopping, eating, watching girly movies, shopping, and shopping. One night we went to CPK for dinner and the fire alarm went off the entire time.  It was obnoxious and they didn't even give us free drinks.  Rude.

We give these faces a lot.

But we give these ones more.

These Faces

These faces will always bring a smile to my face.  Even though their lives were anything but easy, these smiles are evidence that innocence still exists, even in the most depressing conditions.  My time in the Dominican Republic taught me that.

I miss these faces and I miss these kids.

But I'm glad to see that the church is still reaching out and making a difference in the Dominican Republic.

For some reason this video is really big, so double click on it so you can see the whole thing.
